Medieval Halberds and Pikes

The halberd is a weapon with a 2 meter long handle that has a spear point and a transverse blade at the end, with the shape of an ax on one side and another punch

It is a pike with leaves on the sides. It was introduced from China around 1300 by the Scandinavians and was used by the infantry until the late seventeenth century. Its functions were cut, tip and hook. It was widely used as a pike and also to knock down the riders of their horses.

It could be said that it is a type of spear, with the difference that instead of having only one tip it would be accompanied by a double ax spice. The soldiers who used them were known as halberdiers, were part of the army and later went on to pay tribute in parades or before the king
